Plant: Plant dahlias in full sun with well draining soil. After the last spring frost, dig a hole 4-6” deep. Put one tuber in the hole laying horizontal with the eye of the tuber facing up and cover with soil.

Water: Do not water until the dahlia plant is at least 6” tall. Then water deeply at least once a week and stake taller varieties if you are in a windy area.

Harvest: Once the plant is 18” tall, pinch/cut 4” out the center stem to promote branching and more stems. Cut flower stems early in the morning and into clean water. Cut often to keep the plant producing more flowers to enjoy until the first fall frost.
